FAQs
A: Not all brands use the same ingredients and you can also develop an allergy to colour over time. For this reason, it’s important to check every six months.
A: Yes! But please be aware that if you want the colour quality to last it must be maintained regularly. The brighter the colour the faster it fades! We will always advise on the best ways to keep your colour fresh.
A: No. The terms of our business insurance mean we must supply the products used. Not only that but we also carefully research our suppliers to ensure their meet Summer & Yew’s high environmental, quality & ethical standards.
A: No. This is very unlikely as when your hair is bleached the colours under the hair lift through. Natural or coloured black hair will have a lot of red so really only a very warm blonde is achievable at first. It can sometimes take 3 or more sessions to get to a colour you are happy with – we’ll always advise on first consultation what we think is possible.
A: We’re afraid we do not currently offer a perming service.
A: No. We will provide shampoo and conditioner as well as offer an optional head massage. However, if you don’t want us to wash your hair for any reason please let us know. We’ll still need to spray down your hair, so we’d ask it’s fresh and clean. Please note that this will not affect the price.
A: The only thing you’ll need to supply is a suitable chair, preferably without too high a back. The average dining room chair is fine, and we can work around almost everything else so don’t worry. A mirror would also be great but it’s not a necessity. We will supply all products needed including a mobile wash basin and a cover if needed to protect any carpets or flooring.
Being kind to the environment...
is just what we do at Summer & Yew
We try to be as green as we possibly can! Sadly, there are not many options when it comes to most of the industry standard dyes and chemicals used in the colouring process, but we try to ensure as much of the packaging as possible is recyclable and do as much research as we can to ensure all brands used are cruelty free. Even our colouring capes and gloves are washable as well as our gowns and we even use recycled glass spray bottles instead of plastic.
